This year we are again offering members (& non members if space allows) the opportunity to gain certification for a nationally recognised two day Safety Boat qualification.
The weekend consists of Safety Boat Theory (only a bit) and rescue techniques using the club craft, with a continuous assessment of the candidates, during the weekend. Those that reach the standard will receive formal certification. In addition successful candidates will be eligible to be added to the GMSC rescue boat rota.
Prerequisites:
Candidates should hold the RYA powerboat level 2 certificate, and have logged sufficient hours to show experience in craft handling, which should be of a high standard, as this course teaches rescue & recovery techniques not boat handling.
Date: Sat/Sun 3/4 October
Time: 09:00 - 18:00 Sat & 09:00 – 16:00 Sun
Price: £30 for members willing to be added to the safety boat rota.
£60 for non members
Lunch: TBA
You must be able to attend the whole of the training on both days.
There are limited places available - book early to avoid disappointment
